We had a short day today. We left River link Park in Amsterdam, NY at 8:30 and arrived at St. Johnsville Municipal Marina at 2:00 PM. This was another Municipal @ $1 per foot including 30 Amp or 50 Amp electric and water. That's a deal. They also have showers and a laundry.
We called a local supermarket who delivered our order. What a great service!

Here are a few scenes from today:

A train in the distance heading west

A little later we saw this train right next to the canal

A Canal Corporation barge

A Commercial Barge heading our way

The same barge passing us

The locks have a variety of well kept unique buildings at many of the locks

Sitting at the top of the lock waiting to exit

Holding on to a pole in the lock. Locks may have cables, poles, or ladders in addition to ropes hanging down

We are slowing down our trip for a few days. I have made arrangements with Winter Harbor Marina in Brewerton, NY to look at my Chartplotter. This is a multi function device that includes navigational charts and charting tools, as well as radar, and navigational data. Hopefully they will be able to get it working or replace it with a new unit. We don't want to continue our trip without this important piece of equipment. Since we are coming up on the weekend there is no reason to rush; we should be at Winter Harbor on Sunday or Monday and stay until the repair is complete. The weather may also play a role in out timing, rain and thunderstorms are in the forecast.
