June 12 through June
On June 12, 2019 We left NC for the boat , and arrived on Wellesley Island, NY in the St Lawrence River on Friday, June 14th.
Here I am taking Lulu for a walk in a rest area on Rt 81 south of Syracuse, NY. As you can see by my attire it was cold and rainy. We were asking ourselves, "What are we doing here?" But, as you will see, it improved considerably over the next several days.
When we arrived, The water level on the St Lawrence was very high, covering fixed docks and flooding the shoreline.
The water at our dock was so high that it made it difficult to get on and off the boat from the side. I rigged the dingy so that we could use the swim platform, and the dingy could drain and rain water it collected. Doesn't look pretty, but it works.
Lulu settled right in:
The Thousand Islands Club Marina has over 100 boat slips, a great restaurant, and beautifully cared for grounds. Here are a few pictures I took today:
I played golf yesterday and plan to play again tomorrow. We have had three straight days of sunshine and comfortable temperatures. Much different from the cold rainy weather we had when we arrived.
Lulu found another sunny spot!
