August 21, 2018

I am finally up to date, and will continue to post to the blog more frequently to stay up to date.
As you know, we are at the Thousand Islands Clun on Wellesley Island across the St Lawrence River from Alexandria Bay. Here are a few pics of the TI Club. It is a beautiful facility with a great restaurant and bar. There are several hundred boat slips, shower and laundry facilities. The grounds are scenic and well kept. Here are a few pics to give you a feel for the facility:

This is a pic from the end of our dock looking up toward the Restaurant.

This is looking from the end of our dock towards the large covered dock in the middle of the marina

From the end of our dock towards the outdoor fire pit and garden area. There are several covered parking slips in the distance with additional boaters parking behind.

Here is Lulu heading down the dock on a mission. She makes this trip 4 or 5 times a day. She sometimes stops to bark at one of the few boat dogs along the way. Sometimes she barks or gives a little growl when the dog isn't even there.

Here are a few miscellaneous pictures.
Here I am with Katja Pogacar who is practicing at the T I Country Club in anticipation of attending Q School to join the LPGA. She is from Slovakia and has played on the European tour and played for Ohio State woman's golf team. She was delightful to talk to, and willingly had her picture taken with several of us old hackers. She played the men's tees and shot a 72 this morning. She spends the rest of the day hitting practice balls and a couple of hours on the putting green. Practice makes perfect.

Katherine and I played a scramble format when she visited earlier this season; we shot a 72 together.
It took two of us to match Katja's morning score

We have not had a lot of rain, but we did have a heavy rain that flooded portions of the course. Here are two views from the Golf Club Restaurant of the fifth green. The course drains well and was open the next morning. The golf course in across the street from the marina.

We had lunch at the Bonnie Castle Resort while this young man was Flyboarding. A hose is connected to the jet ski and provides the thrust to propel him in the air. Looks like fun for my Grandchildren.
