We are now at River Link Park in Amsterdam, NY.  We left the Welcome center at 7:00 AM and went through the first 9 locks locks with 3 other loopers, a forth looper caught up with us at Lock 10, and all 5 boats locked through. We are all spending the night here at $1.00 per foot which is very reasonable. Here are some pictures we took along the way:

This should give you a look at the locking process. There are informational signs at each lock.
The following pictures show us approaching the lock, going into the lock, Brenda holding the ropes in the lock, a look at the inside of the lock, and the lock doors opening to exit.

At Lock 10 there was a eastbound double barge 20 minutes from the lock. Our lead boat contacted the lockmaster to let him know we were on our way westbound and requested to lock through.  Commercial traffic has priority, but the lockmaster agreed to contact the tug Capt who agreed to let us lock through before the barge. Since it was a double barge, it would require each barge  to lock through separately. His agreement to let us go through first saved us at least a couple of hours.

We reached the River Link Park at 3:30 PM
