Left Coinjock, NC and Arrived in Norfolk, Va. at 3:00 PM. We had a little rain off and on during the trip, however it waited to pour buckets as we docked at Waterside Marina in Norfolk. Once tird up, we waited 1/2 hour before I could walk up to the dockmaster to check in. An hour later the sun was trying to break through, but not a real good effort.
We went through our first Lock of the trip in Great Bridge; they squeezed 8 boats into the lock. we were the last one to get in.
We saw some interesting things along the way including an Aircraft Carrier, and a Barracks boat in the Navy Shipyard in Norfolk.:
We were in a caravan of boats going under the many bridges on this section of the waterway.
We are docked in the Waterside Marina in Norfolk Harbor. Our slip faces the harbor and the Dinner Cruise Schooner "American Rover". We were also treated to sailboat races in the harbor. complete with fireboats spraying in the harbor. the dock master told us that this was the final races from the Nautica Museum Sailing School.
I know that some may be interested in how our Stowaway dog Lulu is doing. Well today I caught her sleeping on the job!
